The Buriton Ducklings Childminding Service is now well-established in Buriton village hall and regular updates can be found on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/buritonducklings2020/
The facility offers a wide range of activities – often linked to the wonderful setting.
“I was born and brought up here,” explains co-founder Jade Styles, “and so I know how lucky we are to be based in the village hall on the wonderful recreation ground where we can do regular bug hunts. But we’re also close to the village pond and woodlands for fascinating walks.”
“Some of the children come here from Clanfield, Horndean and Harting, as well as Petersfield, and their parents and grandparents love the setting. They can see how much the children enjoy everything,” she adds.
“It all fits with our ethos,” explains Emma Foster who runs the group with Jade. “These children will need a healthy planet later in their lives, so we try to do everything that we can to get them off to a good start.”
“We’re pleased to be able to provide a stepping stone to ‘big school’ and we try to help all our ducklings become independent and ready for that big step. Being next-door to Buriton Primary School is perfect for everyone.”
Local Headteacher, Mrs Danielle Brown, confirms that having the facility nearby is beneficial: “We are very pleased that the Ducklings childminding service is so close to Buriton Primary School as it provides a great opportunity for parents intending to bring their child to our school in the future. The children seem to have enjoyable experiences and lots of fun.”
