More news about the forthcoming houses on Greenway Lane
The Parish Council has sought more information about this housing development from Housing Officers at East Hants DC and can update as follows:
As already known, 4 of the 10 homes are due to be built as affordable units: three homes for rent and one as a form of intermediate affordable housing such as shared ownership. All are due to be 2-bedroomed properties and all are due to have solar panels and air source heat pumps making them relatively efficient to live in.
The SDNPA and EHDC Policies are designed to help people with a connection to the parish of Buriton get priority for those four homes - but the individuals/families will need to be registered with Hampshire Home Choice via https://www.hampshirehomechoice.org.uk/.
When new houses are being built they are normally advertised via Hampshire Home Hub about 8 or 10 weeks before they are ready: so any local people will need to be ready to apply (registered etc) in the months ahead …
New opportunities are advertised every Wednesday on Hampshire Homes Hub and people have until the following Sunday to apply. Decisions are then made by the following Tuesday.
If people have not applied (“placed a bid of interest”) they will not get the house: they will be offered to other applicants as they cannot be kept empty.
Applicants will need evidence of their connection to the parish. There is a guide to the ‘bidding’ process here: The bidding process guide
The Parish Council is seeking details from the developers (Imperial Homes) about when they are expecting to finish the building process – and information will be added to this website.
Staff in at EHDC’s Housing Team (01730 234415) are very willing to help anyone interested in applying for any of these four homes.
Other information obtained so far from Imperial Homes about the construction project is summarised on the community website here. And details of the company’s offer of a discount on the sale prices of the 6 ‘market’ homes is available here.
