Following the great successes at the Buriton Fireworks and the Christmas Fair in the church, A Leg At Each Corner is going to hold a Buriton Bacon Occasion: a special event just before Christmas.
It is not to be missed. It will be your last chance before Christmas to get what will be on offer, which will be:
bacon (obviously): smoked or green, streaky or back
full range of pork and hogget
sausages: chipolatas, cocktail and ordinary sausages, sausage meat
Just as a guide, I use three packs of streaky bacon on our turkey. This makes sure that it is moist and tasteful to the point of decadence.
To make your own Pigs in Blankets you will need one pack of both cocktail sausages and streaky bacon and only a little manual dexterity.
Not only the meat, there will also be:
scarves, shawls and throws made from our own Ryeland wool
sloe gin (to sample, not buy)
and Henry is bound to be around somewhere.
We will fire up the smoker so please bring along anything (reasonable) you might like to have smoked. Smoking jackets will not be obligatory but please do give me as much notice as possible of your intentions.
