Local initiatives are show-cased to an audience on You-Tube

The South Downs National Park Authority organised an on-line event for scores of parish councils on 21 April 2021 with work undertaken in Buriton included as a case study.

The special ‘webinar’ was also recorded and can be viewed via this link.

After introductions, the event began with two short films about the South Downs International Dark Sky Reserve followed by information about planning policies and tourism opportunities as well as guidance for local communities from the SDNPA’s dark skies expert, Dan Oakley.

The presentation about Buriton’s initiatives rounded off the event and was given by Chair of the Parish Council, Doug Jones, who is also a Board Member of the National Park Authority.

As well as the link to the whole of the webinar, a summary of the Buriton presentation is available as a pdf at the foot of this page.

A copy of the leaflet distributed to every household in the parish in 2017 (with further local information and advice) is also reproduced at the foot of this page.
