Consultation about proposals for new houses at Greenway Lane

An opportunity to have your say …

Mapledean Projects, a subsidiary of Metis Homes, has acquired an interest in land at Greenway Lane and is formulating proposals for its development with ten new houses, including some affordable homes for local people.

The site was identified as a suitable location for new homes in the adopted South Downs Local Plan and the company is now seeking the community’s feedback on emerging details: an opportunity to make comments before a planning application is submitted.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic it is not possible for the company, or the Parish Council, to hold a normal public exhibition event – but Mapledean are keen to consult with the local community and so they have arranged an online public consultation.

A virtual exhibition has been created to illustrate the proposals, which you can be found on this dedicated website:

Having looked at the plans, there’s an opportunity to fill out on online feedback form so that Mapledean are aware of comments. You can jump straight to the feedback form by clicking here.

The online consultation will run until midnight on Monday 21st December 2020: an opportunity to have your say …

In addition, the Parish Council has been asked to submit comments to the Planning Authority and a copy of the response (which welcomes many aspects, identifies two important concerns and raises a number of queries) can be seen here.

Once the developers have had time to consider reactions to their proposals and make any resultant changes, they are likely to submit a Planning Application in the spring. Everyone would then have another opportunity to comment on the detailed plans before the Planning Authority considers the matter.
