Teacher training project helps improve education in Dominase

As part of Buriton's Village-to-Village link with its sister community of Dominase in rural Ghana, teachers are nearing the end of their special training project.

The first group of teachers have recently received the latest instalment of their sponsorship funding from Buriton - and are now only a few months away from completing their training.

Our small charity now sponsors teachers through training courses so as to improve the quality of teaching and help children get a better education: a vital step in their path out of poverty.

The photograph shows seven of the young teachers alongside Madam Dorcas Asara of the Ghana education Service who is working closely with the Buriton-based charity to oversee the initiative.

Thanks to the generosity of a local sponsor, every penny of money raised for this charity is spent 'on the ground' in Dominase - none of it is spent on any sort of administrative costs.
