Greenway Lane Housing Proposals

Greenway Lane planning application approved

The application for 10 new houses on Greenway Lane was considered at the National Park’s planning committee on 10 March and was approved.

The Parish Council and village design group both spoke at the meeting as well as the developers but there were no other speakers from the village.

In the period since the February meeting (reported here), the planners had explored opportunities to provide a footpath all the way along Greenway Lane but it had not been possible to achieve this.

Speakers raised a number of issues to try to get some improvements within the site but no changes were made to the plans.

The matter was discussed again at the Parish Council’s committee meeting on 21 March where it was concluded that there was nothing more that the Parish Council could have done on the matter.

The site had been approved for development in the Planning Authority’s Local Plan after the public inquiry in 2018. Since then the developers had been producing their designs and layouts etc – including attending a consultation event in the village last year (summarised here).
