A few years ago Bernie & Mary Saunders organised a "Walk for Water" along the South Downs Way which raised over ?5,000 for water supplies in Dominase. Something similar - but less strenuous - is now being planned ...
The Shipwrights Way is a new long distance route passing through some beautiful countryside and attractive villages in the east of Hampshire – designed to connect to local rail stations.
Buriton’s Village-to-Village Group has been chosen as the official charity for a special sponsored walk – linked to the formal opening of the new route.
Can you to take part and help raise more money for Dominase?
After an official opening ceremony at 10am there will be an opportunity to be amongst the very first people to walk sections of the route.
There will be a choice of two routes, both starting from the Riverside Walk in Liss: (1) a shorter route of 5 miles to Petersfield which follows tracks and lanes through pretty countryside, or (2) a slightly longer walk of 7 miles to Liphook through delightful countryside, past old watercress beds and along the edge of Weavers Down.
It is hoped that there will be scores of walkers from different parts of Hampshire – but it will be good to have a healthy turnout from Buriton too.
