Ducklings fight against Dog Poo

Childcare group makes poo bag dispensers

Children at the Buriton Ducklings childcare group have been busy making their own poo bag dispensers and putting them up around the village, near Petersfield in Hampshire.

Jade and Emma, the founders of the childcare providers group, both feel strongly about the amounts of dog mess that can sometimes be found and worry that this anti-social behaviour by a minority of dog owners may be increasing again – which can spoil things for young children.

Ducklings hit the headlines

The Buriton Ducklings Childcare Service features in a double-page spread in the Petersfield Post

With the new term underway, the local Petersfield newspaper reports on how the children are as busy as bees – helping with the community’s Pollinator Project.

The Ducklings had been cultivating their private garden to encourage wildflowers and to attract a range of butterflies and insects.

Founders Jade Styles and Emma Foster were delighted that the Petersfield Post took such an interest in their work – with 10 colour photos of happy children in the beautiful setting.

Buriton Ducklings raise over £200 for cancer support

Part of the world’s biggest coffee morning

Not satisfied with only running the Ducklings Childcare service, Jade and Emma hosted a successful event in Buriton village hall, near Petersfield, in September.

As part of the Macmillan cancer support initiative, the two Ducklings organisers, baked cakes and attracted people from beyond the village to help raise funds for this good cause.

The Buriton Ducklings Childcare service is now well-established in the village and offers a wide range of activities – often linked to the wonderful setting.

Goodbye Buriton Nursery School

A special party

After more than 20 years, the Buriton Nursery School is closing its doors at the end of the summer term.

Please join in the celebrations on Saturday 21 July, 1pm to 4pm, in the village hall.

The party is a great opportunity to catch-up with the many children who have attended the nursery over the years and all the people in the community who have been part of their journey.

Please look out for posters around the village for more details
