Sponsored toddle raises over ?300 for good causes

Children, parents, helpers and friends of Buriton Nursery School took part in a 'Sponsored Toddle' on the village recreation ground in May, to raise money for school funds and for their friends in Africa.

The Nursery is an integral part of the village community and likes to get involved in as many village events and causes as possible - and the toddle was designed to help the community's Village-to-Village link with Dominase in Ghana.

After looking at pictures of life in Africa, and trying on some of the brightly coloured clothes, the children set off for the recreation ground.

The weather was perfect and an enthusiastic herd of Nursery pupils and their younger siblings galloped or staggered around the course.

The morning was rounded off with a medal presentation for all - and, after all the money was collected, a cheque for almost £170 was presented to the Village-to-Village Group.

The Nursery School's waiting list for September is now open. Anyone interested in enrolling their child should contact Caroline Spurdle (Nursery Leader) or go to www.buritonnurseryschool.co.uk
