News about the Village Inn, the potential phone mast in Kiln Lane and ten new houses on land at Greenway Lane
The Parish Council considers all planning application in the parish and (as reported on this web-page) there have been some large and significant ones in the early part of 2021.
Updates are as follows:
- the Parish Council has learnt that the application to change the Village Inn into a dwelling (SDNP/20/05029/FUL) has been withdrawn by the applicants;
- a decision about a potential phone mast in the field close to the recreation ground in Kiln Lane (SDNP/21/00931/PA16) was made on 10th May and is available at the foot of this page; the application was refused by the South Downs Planning Department on a number of grounds including that it “would result in an incongruous, urbanising form of development that would have a harmful impact on the visual and perceptual amenity and landscape character of the rural village setting”; the Parish Council’s objections to the proposals are available here; and
- the anticipated application for ten new houses adjacent to Greenway Lane has now been submitted (SDNP/21/02014/FUL) with opportunities for public comments via the planning authority’s website. The developers are also willing to continue engagement with the community during the application process and will continue to update their project website (www.greenwaylane.consultationonline.co.uk) but for comments to be considered by the Planning Authority they will need to be submitted to them (https://planningpublicaccess.southdowns.gov.uk/online-applications/).
