Seniors' afternoon tea - down on the farm

Pre-booking is essential: please see details below.

As part of Buriton's 'Down on our Farms' programme of events, open days, walks and talks Mrs Susan Shone is kindly hosting a special mid-summer Farm Tea at Bolinge Hill Farm on Wednesday afternoon, 5th July: 2.30 - 4pm.

This farm tea is solely for 'seniors' of the parish and pre-booking is essential: please contact Lynne Ashcroft as soon as possible (and by Friday 30th June at the latest) on 01730 231709 to book your place - and let the organisers know if transport is required to or from the farm.

Bluebell Walk and Farm Tea at Bolinge Hill Farm

An opportunity for parishioners, family and friends to take a delightful guided stroll along farm paths not normally open to the public - and opportunities (weather permitting) to see thousands of bluebells and impressive Early Purple orchids.

Farm owner Susan Shone will also provide afternoon tea back at Bolinge Hill farmhouse where visitors will be able to wander around the gardens.

This event is for parishioners and families only.

Please meet at the farmhouse for a 2pm start (and please wear sensible footwear as some of the farm tracks are likely to be muddy and wet).

Dogs are welcome on the walk - as long as they are kept on leads - but not in the garden for tea.

This event is free-of-charge - with an opportunity to make donations for Buriton's playground improvements.

Bluebells and beef are great success

Over 90 people enjoyed a delightful guided stroll along farm paths not normally open to the public thanks to the generosity of local farmer Susan Shone.

The carpets of bluebells were absolutely amazing this year - looking resplendent in the wonderful sunshine.

After the walk Susan provided a delicious farm tea back at Bolinge Hill farmhouse where visitors were able to wander around the gardens.

Donations collected on the day go to the Home Farm Trust.

Last chance to buy Local Beef for the months ahead

Scores of people have already bought beef from Bolinge Hill Farm - and, as anyone who has tried it will testify, the texture and flavours are fantastic. Supplies were 'sold out' before Christmas but there are now just a few orders to fill in January and February. After that we all have to wait until December again!

Susan Shone arranges for extra ‘hanging’ time at a local abattoir which enhances the flavours even more.

And it's all from Buriton’s beautiful countryside …
