The BFG

Steven Spielberg's massive hit version of Roald Dahl's famous book needs no introduction!

Recent Oscar winner Mark Rylance (for Spielberg?s Bridge Of Spies) makes an appealing giant with his grey hair, protruding ears and colourful language of made-up words. A hilarious tale this is sure to be a major winner for Christmas!

This film (in the village hall) will start at 6pm (doors open at 5.30pm) and refreshments will be available.

45 Years

Tom Courtenay and Charlotte Rampling are at the top of their game in this compelling drama of lost love and missed opportunity

A big hit at the Berlin Film Festival, Tom Courtenay and Charlotte Rampling play a couple (Geoff and Kate) whose celebration of 45 years of marriage is wrecked by the discovery of the body of Geoff?s previous lover in an Alpine glacier 50 years after her accidental death.

A terrific film, all about a close relationship now revealed to be what it seemed.

Suffragette

One of the most eagerly awaited films of the year starring Cary Mulligan, Helena Bonham-Carter, Meryl Streep, Anne-Marie Duff and Romola Garai.

A drama that tracks the story of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State.

A Walk in the Woods

A comedy drama based on Bill Bryson's best seller

Instead of retiring to enjoy his loving and beautiful wife (Emma Thompson), celebrated travel writer, Bill Bryson (played by Robert Redford), challenges himself to hike the Appalachian Trail - 2,200 miles of America?s most unspoiled, spectacular and rugged countryside.

The Lady in the Van

A wonderfully warm-hearted romp. Maggie Smith is magnificent as a homeless woman who shares Alan Bennett's drive in this moving adaptation of the West End play

When Alan Bennett offered the temporary use of his drive to a homeless woman in the 1970s, she parked her battered van outside his front door and stayed for 15 years.
