Illegal use of Bolinge Hill Lane

A number of parishioners have complained to the Parish Council about an increase in the number of cars driving along Bolinge Hill Lane (between Petersfield Road, Buriton, and The Causeway).

For some years now this road has been ‘For Access Only’ – which means only for vehicles needing to access the houses or farm along the road.

This lane now forms part of the Shipwrights Way and is used primarily by walkers and cyclists (including children going to or from local schools). Selfish use by unauthorised users is a serious threat to safety.

It is a criminal offence under the Road Traffic Act 1988 s34(1) for anyone to drive a mechanically propelled vehicle (including a motorbike or moped) all the way along the lane from Buriton to Petersfield or vice-versa.

The Parish Council is keen to encourage as many parishioners as possible to respond so that the most appropriate decision can be made about what to do.

The deadline for responses is Monday 2nd October and there are two votes per household (on the special, red, paper).

Ballot papers can be returned with comments, suggestions etc.

Residents should put their voting slips into the envelope and can either:
