EVER looked up at the night sky and wondered at the thousands of stars before your eyes?
Now there's a special chance to learn more about the night sky above our parish and how we might make the view even better.
The South DownsNational Park's own star man Dan Oakley will give an illustrated talk in Buriton Village Hall on Friday, February 12th ... and then take everyone outside to do their own star gazing through telescopes and binoculars.
Dan, the Park's Dark Skies expert, will help you learn what you can see with just your own eyes as well....and how to improve viewing opportunities from your own home.
If the weather is poor, more time can be spent indoors getting advice from Dan.
Bring binoculars if you have them, wrap up warm and consider getting a special App for your phone before the event. Free Apps include SkyView Free and Star Chart with equivalent apps for Androids including SkyView Free, Sky Map and Star Chart.
This is event is free of charge and no booking is required.
