Proposals scrutinised to help residents
All Parish Councillors are unpaid volunteers who work together to serve the interests of the Parish, bring local issues to the attention of the Council, and help it make decisions on behalf of the local community.
The Council always tries to find time to study important consultation proposals which it receives from a wide range of organisations as well commenting on planning applications.
In recent weeks there have been large-scale proposals from Hampshire County Council which could potentially affect conditions in Buriton and the Council has responded to those which could see the complete withdrawal of the bus service, the closure of the Household Waste & Recycling site in Petersfield, reductions to planned highways maintenance programmes and less roads being kept free of snow and ice during the winter.
There have also been proposals to adjust the planning permission granted for the ReCharge One development at the Greenway Lane roundabout and to finalise the appearance of the new housing development on Greenway Lane.
In addition the planning application for a new 80-bedroom hotel on another field near the Greenway Lane roundabout is due to be decided by the Planning Authority very soon.
Copies of the Council’s comments on these matters can be found at the foot of this web-page.
