Responses submitted by the Parish Council
Hampshire County Council currently spends £3.5 million pa on supporting services (including the 94 Service which serves Buriton) but they are looking to save £800,000 from next year. As well as drawing the HCC Consultation to the attention of parishioners, Parish Councillors have studied the options and proposals and submitted a response: available at the foot of this page.
The development consultants, Pegasus Group, objected to the refusal of permission to construct the telecommunications mast near to Kiln Lane and appealed against this decision to the Government’s independent Planning Inspectorate. Parish Councillors studied their arguments but resolved to support the decision of the South Downs National Park Authority, including the reasoning of their professional landscape experts and their Conservation Area Officers, to refuse permission for this proposal. A copy of the Parish Council response is at the foot of this page.
