Starting on 21st February in Midhurst
In April 2022 the National Park’s Planning Committee refused the planning application to develop a field near the Greenway Lane roundabout for up to 60 holiday lodges, spaces for shops and cafes, a re-charge centre for electric vehicles and internal roads with about 125 parking spaces (see here).
The developers have appealed to the Government against this decision and a Public Inquiry by an Inspector appointed by the Department for Communities and Local Government, Planning Inspectorate will start at 10am on Tuesday 21st February 2023.
The inquiry is currently anticipated to last for up to eight days but the duration is not fixed and will depend on how the evidence emerges.
The Inquiry will take place in the Memorial Hall, South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, GU29 9DH.
The Parish Council has submitted evidence to the Public Inquiry (see pdf document at the foot of this web-page) and Councillors will be attending the Inquiry. Members of the public are also entitled to attend.
The main participants will be the prospective developers, their advocates and expert witnesses and the National Park’s team of planning, landscape and dark skies experts.
