Useful information from the B-earth Day event …
There was lots of interest at the recent B-earth Day event, with many people finding out what they can recycle – and where?
Here is the useful information provided:
Household collection service:
- Paper: newspapers, magazines, junk mail, computer paper , envelopes, catalogues and directories and paper bags
- Plastic bottles: food and drink bottles, detergent bottles, toiletries (eg shampoo, shower gel, liquid soap), bottle tops
- Tins and cans: food tins including pet food tins, drinks cans, sweet and biscuit tins
- Aerosols: food eg. cream and oil, deodorant, hairspray
- Garden waste: a separate ‘opt in’, paid-for collection service (although this waste can be taken to the Household Waste & Recycling Centre in Petersfield free of charge)
St Marys Church, Buriton:
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes (including electric toothbrush heads)
- Medication/tablet blister packs (empty)
- Used stamps
- Milk bottle tops (plastic)
Tesco, Petersfield:
Green collection container by roundabout:
- Juice cartons (including caps and straws)
- Pringles tubes (no lids)

- Dough paper containers (with metal ends)
