Star-Gazing event at the Five Bells on Friday 17th February.

As part of a wider 'Dark Skies Festival', experts from the South Downs National Park Authority will be coming to the village again to explain the wonders of the thousands of stars that can be seen from Buriton.

Meet at the Five Bells at 6.30pm for a short introduction by star-man Dan Oakley before crossing to the Recreation Ground to use telescopes and binoculars. Dan will help everyone learn what we can see with just our own eyes and how to improve viewing opportunities from our homes. He will also be available to chat back in the Five Bells afterwards.

Bring binoculars if you have them, wrap up warm and consider getting a special App for your phone before the event. Free Apps include SkyView Free and Star Chart with equivalent apps for Androids including SkyView FreeSky Map and Star Chart.

If the weather is poor, Dan will try to give a 'virtual tour' of the sky on a laptop and screen in the Five Bells.

This event is free of charge and open to all parishioners. People outside the parish should book a place via: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/buriton-stargazing-party-tickets-31414989078
